NFL Week 3 – Injury Check Down Report

Double trouble for fantasy owners - Lacy is questionable and the game is Monday night

Double trouble for fantasy owners: 1) Lacy is questionable 2) Green Bay plays Monday Night

BREAKING NEWS – DeMarco Murray is OUT for Week 3

Eric Decker OUT

Chris Ivory – ACTIVE

RUNNING BACK

Eddie Lacy: The Eddie Lacy situation is shaping up into the dreaded Game-Time-Decision and that’s bad news for fantasy owners because Green Bay plays Monday night. Lacy is actually expected to play against the visiting Chiefs, but the question is how many snaps he will play? He’s been dealing with an ankle injury that forced him out of last week’s game against Seattle. James Starks, a competent and proven runner may get the majority of carries as the Packers could go to great lengths to ensure that Lacy doesn’t make his ankle injury worse.

Chris Ivory: Ivory has a nagging groin injury which limited participation all week, according to Head Coach Todd Bowles, Ivory will be a game-time decision. Even if Ivory plays, Bilal Powell will more than likely usurp many of the carries as the Jets want to be careful with Ivory’s work load.

Marshawn Lynch: Lynch has been limited all week with a calf injury, but I’d be surprised if he didn’t play this weekend. He is also listed as a game time call, but is more than likely to suit up and play against a struggling Bears defense.

DeMarco Murray (hamstring) Murray is expected to play, but gets a terrible matchup against a RUGGED Jets defense. For fantasy purposes, he is nothing more than a desperation play.

Reggie Bush: Most likely will not play, even if Bush does decide to fight through the injury, Carlos Hyde will receive most of the carries, making Bush a shot in the dark option.

Todd Gurley: Gurley should make his NFL debut this weekend, the question is how much volume will he get. I suspect they will ease him into the offense by splitting carries 50/50 with Tre Mason.

QUARTERBACK

Drew Brees – OUT

Jay Cutler – OUT

Matthew Stafford: Stafford is far from 100% after getting roughed up by the Minnesota defense last week and things will get no better against the visiting Broncos. Denver has a shut-down pass defense and Stafford has little fantasy upside for this SNF encounter.

WIDE RECEIVER

Davante Adams: Unlike his team mate Eddie Lacy, Davante Adams is almost a sure thing to play Monday night against the visiting Chiefs. He will not be a hundred percent, but it would be hard not play him with Aaron Rodgers at the helm.

Alshon Jeffrey – OUT

TIGHT END

Julius Thomas – OUT

Dwayne Allen – OUT
