Steelers versus Ravens: Thursday Night Sit and Start Report

Big Ben should have few problems with the Ravens defense

Big Ben should have few problems with the Ravens defense

Week 13 kicks off with four Thanksgiving football games, the last of which has the bitter divisional rivals Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens facing off. Both teams have some strong fantasy value on them and fantasy owners should look to capitalize on their Week 13 matchups.

Start:

Ray Rice- While the Pittsburgh Steelers defense ranks 13th in the league, their major weakness lies within their rush defense, which ranks 9th worse in the NFL. Rice has struggled so far this season, but still remains a strong factor in the Ravens passing game. Fantasy owners should expect a solid performance on Thanksgiving night from Rice.

Ben Roethlisberger- Big Ben is one of the hotter quarterbacks out there right now, throwing for 1,188 yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions through his last four games. Fantasy owners should keep playing Roethlisberger’s hot streak as he takes on his division rival Baltimore Ravens.

Sit:

Joe Flacco- Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco has not had a season worth his new enormous six-year $120 million contract so far. Through 11 games this season, he has thrown for 2,742 yards and a dismal 1-1 touchdown-interception ratio, 14 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Unfortunately for Flacco, his rival Pittsburgh Steelers possess the league’s 10th best pass defense. Fantasy owners should bench Joe Flacco against the Steelers this week.

Emmanuel Sanders- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has picked up where he left off last season when he experienced somewhat of a breakout season. With 48 receptions for 561 yards, and three touchdowns on the season, he ranks second on the team in receptions and receiving yards and third in receiving touchdowns. The Ravens defense ranks 11th in the league against the pass so fantasy owners should not expect a strong performance from Sanders in Week 13.
