Veteran wide receiver Nate Burleson made the most of his return to the Detroit Lions hauling in 7 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown during Week 12 against the Buccaneers. Burleson made the most of his single coverage opportunities even though Detroit fell to Tampa.
Burleson had been nursing a broken arm since week 3 when he was injured during an ill-fated pizza run. Before his accident, he recorded 239 yards on 19 receptions, including one game with 116 yards. Mathew Stafford has been coming on strong and Burleson has an opportunity to benefit from his success.
Burleson will be working off a short week as the Lions have a juicy Thanksgiving matchup against the wide-open Packers pass defense. The Packers will throw everything they have to try and bottle up Megatron which should allow Burleson to see a decent dose of targets.
This is a great chance for fantasy owners to pick up Burleson and see what can do. He has one of the best fantasy quarterbacks throwing him the ball in a very productive offense. The Lions are among the top 5 in total offense (YPG) and passing (YPG), which means Burleson could be very busy the rest of the season.
