Week 12 Wideout and Tight End Sleeper Report

Week 12 is here and thankfully, it’s the last week of bye weeks for fantasy owners.  The Bills, Bengals, Eagles and Seahawks are on their bye, so fantasy owners are looking for some serious help in multiple positions.

Tight end Delanie Walker and wide receiver Jarrett Boykin lead the pack of your Week 12 sleepers.

Delanie Walker (TE – TN)

Let’s start with tight ends for a change. Delanie Walker has been quietly putting up nice numbers during the past few weeks. No relevant tight ends are on a bye this week, but there are a two top 10 tight ends that are likely going to be game time decisions.

Julius Thomas and Jordan Reed both left last week’s games early with injuries and are both questionable for this week’s game. They play on Sunday and Monday night which is creating headaches for fantasy owners. Thomas and Reed owners might not want to wait to the last second to see if their players are active or not, and it may be a good idea to play Walker instead as a precaution.

Walker has put up double-digit fantasy points in three of his last four games and appears to be one of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s favorite targets. Walker racked up 10 receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown last week against the Colts and has a really good match-up against the Raider this week. Walker actually has a fantastic schedule down the stretch and gets to face Indy, Denver and Jacksonville three of the next four weeks which are all great tight end match-ups.

Walker is available in 59% of Yahoo and 76% of ESPN fantasy leagues and could end up being a top 10 tight end for the rest of the season.

Jarrett Boykin (WR – GB)

Jarrett Boykin appears on the waiver wire and/or sleeper report pretty much every week.  That’s because fantasy owners are hesitant to insert Boykin into their lineups with Aaron Rodgers still nursing his collarbone injury.

Boykin is only owned in 59% of Yahoo and 55% of ESPN fantasy leagues, even though he’s put up double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games.  The only game Boykin did not have double-digit points in the last five weeks is the game that Rodgers left with an injury in the first quarter.

Boykin is a solid WR3 or Flex play this week. Owners that play in a PPR league should definitely give the nod to Boykin over any low end RB2 at the Flex position. Rodgers is already throwing without pain and this might be the last week he misses due to injury. Rodgers could be back for the Packers game on Thanksgiving day and Boykin’s numbers will only increase with Rodgers back in the lineup.
