The name of the game in fantasy football is matchups, and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has one that make owner’s cringe when looking at their weekly lineup.
The Vikings take on the Seahawk’s on Sunday who allow just 289 total yards per game, good for 3rd best in the NFL. The only thing worse than going up against the Seahawk’s defense is doing it in their own building. The crowd noise can reach record levels at times making it tough for opposing quarterbacks to run the offense properly.
If there is a running back that can be immune to a bad matchup it would be Adrian Peterson. The reigning MVP is one of the best, if not the best talent in the running back position in the entire NFL. Peterson has shown us he cannot be categorized with any other player at his position, he is a rare breed of his own.
In Week 6 of the NFL season Peterson faced a Carolina Panther defense that ranks similar to Seattle in defensive categories. He was given the ball only 10 times on the ground but was able manage 62 rush yards posting an impressive 6.2 yards per carry.
The matchup is not good but the 5 time Pro Bowler has been red hot lately racking up 275 yards on the ground with 4 touchdowns over his last 3 games. He will look to keep rolling in Seattle and will still have number 1 running back value.
