Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray took to the practice field this week as a full participant. This is encouraging news for fantasy owners that the knee is healing properly.
Last week, the Cowboys did not feature the run much at all. Out of 63 snaps on offense, offensive coordinator Bill Callahan dialed up just 9 runs. The unbalanced game plan resulted in the Cowboys losing the time of possession battle to the Vikings 28:33 to 31:27 and almost the game.
This week, the Cowboys take on Drew Brees and the Saints in New Orleans. Murray should see an increase in rush attempts to help keep Brees off the field. His improved health and attendance at practice will also get the third year man out of Oklahoma in a majority of the snaps.
Murray is a dynamic player with great vision, elusiveness, strength and ability to catch the ball. There is no question the Cowboys are a better team with Murray on the field and they will need his contributions this week against a high powered Saints team.
Barring any setbacks, Murray should be started in all formats and looked at as a solid RB2 for Week 10.
