Week 9 saw the Buffalo Bills hosting the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. While the Bills, who were leading at halftime, ended up losing to the Chiefs, fantasy owners saw many positive signs from the Bills backfield.
C.J. Spiller, who has battled quadriceps and ankle injuries most of the season, rushed 12 times for 116 yards. While reports say Spiller was seen limping off the field at times, he was still able to produce strong numbers against a very good Kansas City defense.
Fantasy owners should also be sure to note that Spiller’s backup, Fred Jackson, is another solid fantasy option. Jackson was able to amass 16 carries for 77 yards and one reception for 22 yards against the Chiefs.
Even while Jackson and Spiller split carries pretty evenly throughout the day, both have significant fantasy values. Jackson is currently averaging 55.8 rushing yards and three receptions per game. He also has rushed for 6 touchdowns on the season. His value is much stronger in PPR (point-per-reception) leagues but with Spiller’s health uncertainty, Jackson is worth a flex option on most fantasy teams.
