Ponder to Step in for Concussed Josh Freeman

The drama continues in Minnesota as Christian Ponder will likely make the Week 8 start over Josh Freeman. Strangely, Ponder will get the start not because of Freeman’s hideous performance on Monday Night Football, but because Freeman is suffering from a concussion.

On Monday night, Freeman had the lowest completion percentage in a game with 40 or more passing attempts (37.7%) since Eli Manning against the Redskins in 2007 (34%)!

Even after that historic poor performance, Leslie Frazier gave the nod to Freeman to start again until he learned about the concussion. It appears that everyone in Minnesota including Frazier, is waiting for Freeman to rekindle some of his magic from last year when he threw for more than 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns.
