It’s no shock that the New England Patriots have no updates on the playing status of wide receiver Danny Amendola. Amendola got knocked unconscious during Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints and is currently struggling with a concussion. He hasn’t been anywhere near the practice field and is very likely out for Week 7.
This early exit for Amendola was salt on an open wound for him, Tom Brady and the Patriots offense. It was only Amendola’s second game back after suffering a groin injury during Week 1. Without Amendola, the Pats find themselves running dangerously low on offensive weapons.
Five Patriots were unable to practice on Wednesday, seven more were limited at practice and know one seems to know when Rob Gronkowski might grace us with his presence. The Patriots have been able to fight through their unfortunate bill of health through 6 weeks, but you have to wonder how long they can keep it up.
Amendola is arguably Tom Brady’s top target when he is on the field and he will surely be missed if he is unable to go against the Jets in Week 7.
