New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham hurt his left foot during Sunday’s loss to New England. Graham was scheduled to have an MRI on Monday.
ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Saints will “monitor” his progress during the bye week, but do not consider the injury serious at this time. There was no further update on the MRI.
Graham owners can breathe a sigh of relief for now, as it looks like the former college Basketball standout avoided a serious injury. He also suffered the injury at a ‘convenient’ time being right before his bye week.
There’s no question that the Saints rely on Graham and need him back as soon as possible. The pro-bowler leads the NFL in receiving yards with 593 through 6 weeks; and his 60 targets are tied for fifth best in the league.
As of right now it looks like the Saints are expecting Graham to play Week 8 against Buffalo; monitor his situation through the bye week before cementing him in your Week 8 lineup.
