Green Bay hoping Cobb and Jones can bounce back quickly

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Baltimore Ravens, 19-17 on Sunday, but the win came with a heavy price tag. The Packers lost two of their top wide receivers as both Randall Cobb and James Jones left the game before halftime with separate leg injuries.

Cobb is expected to miss at least two games and possibly more after suffering a right knee injury.

Jones was forced out of the game after sustaining a leg injury while blocking on the Packers second drive of the game. The injury has been identified as a sprained PCL and Jones should be back for next week’s game against Cleveland.

Just as the Packers were trying to get settled in without one of their leading pass-catchers, Randall Cobb went down after being hit low by a Ravens defender just before halftime. Cobb took a helmet to the knee and was carted off the field, returning to the sideline on crutches where he watched the remainder of the game.

While Cobb suffered the more serious injury of the two, the Packers are that both receivers will be able to bounce back quickly. Expect the team to rely heavily on the run game in the next few weeks. Rookie Eddie Lacy pounded the Ravens for 120 rushing yards on Sunday and seems to be finding his groove in Green Bay.
