Raiders running back Rashad Jennings will get the start this week against the San Diego Chargers and expect to see an impressive performance. He will be the feature back and should be able to take advantage of a weak Chargers run defense.
Due to an injury to starting tailback Darren McFadden, Jennings will carry the load in Week 5. Marcel Reece was supposed to split carries with Jennings, but he hasn’t been 100% healthy in practice this week.
Replacement quarterback Matt Flynn seemed to view the tailback as a solid receiving option in their Week 4 contest, hooking up with him 8 times on 8 targets for 71 yards.
During Week 4, Jennings was able to rack up 116 total yards of offense against a hapless Washington Redskins defensive unit. The Chargers are allowing 5.24 yards per carry and 120.5 rushing yards per game thus far, making this a better time than ever for Jennings to breakout.
Jennings is a great flex option for Week 5 against a subpar Chargers rush defense.
