There’s few things fantasy owners hate more than the dreaded game-time decision, but that’s exactly what’s in the cards for Danny Amendola owners coming into Week 5. While New England travels to Cincinnati this weekend, fantasy owners can either risk a zero by putting Amendola into the lineup or once again make alternate plans at the wide receiver position.
The Patriots signed Amendola during the off season in hopes that he could fill the void left by Wes Welker. But wide-eyed fantasy owners had the injury risks staring them right in the face when they drafted Amendola who’s been nursing a groin injury which has prevented him from returning to the team at full capacity.
If Amendola does play, owners should feel a great sense of relief because he is by far Tom Brady’s most talented receiver. The Bengals defense is dealing with some serious injury issues in and if Amendola plays, he could have a big day. The Bengals have also allowed the 15th most fantasy points to wide receivers which isn’t the best match up, but still pretty good especially with Brady throwing Amendola the ball.
Consider Amendola a high risk high reward start for Sunday and be ready to pull the plug if he can’t play.
