Malcom Floyd Down and Out in San Diego

San Diego wide receiver, Malcom Floyd, went down Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles with a neck injury and never returned to the field.

The Chargers placed Floyd on injured reserved ending his season with 6 receptions for 149 yards.

This is the 2nd Chargers receiver that has gone down this season, the first was Danario Alexander, who went down with a torn ACL before the season began.

Despite the injuries of these two main receivers, Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers seems to be thriving under offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. The question is that with all of these receivers down and out, who has been catching the passes in San Diego?

Fantasy wise, Eddie Royal and Antonio Gates have been clearly lighting up the stats board. Royal blew up the Eagles defense (as does every quick slot receiver), and Gates has 2 games with 11 receptions and more than 120 yards.

The most recent Chargers receivers making an impact is former Patriots running back, Danny Woodhead. Woodhead has 162 yards receiving yards and 2 touchdowns so far this season.
