The Baltimore Ravens have started the 2013 season with a chip on their shoulder, despite their miraculous Superbowl win the previous season. Many doubt quarterback Joe Flacco’s talent and former linebacker/savior of Baltimore, Ray Lewis doubts their leadership without his presence. But the Ravens have still played relatively well despite all of that off-field drama.
Torrey Smith is an established deep threat and it’s time he put up the fantasy numbers of a top receiver. Still looking for his first touchdown of the season, fantasy owners are beginning to worry Smith might not be the scoring machine they had hoped for.
But fear not fantasy junkies, this is Smith’s week to shine. Matched-up against a depleted Buffalo Bills secondary in Week 4, Smith should unleash a banner performance this weekend. As the 9th most targeted receiver and 10th in receiving yards with 269, Smith should be able to score in the end zone this week.
With the status of running back Ray Rice in question after sitting out Week 3, expect the Ravens to be focused on the passing game once again. Flacco arguably has the strongest rapport with Smith out of all his receivers now that tight-end Dennis Pitta is on the injured reserve. You’d be smart to make sure Smith is in your starting lineup this week.
