Oakland Raiders backup quarterback Matt Flynn may be called into action to start this weekend against the Washington Redskins. Starter Terrelle Pryor suffered a concussion during Week 3 against the Broncos and is officially listed as questionable for Week 4. Flynn may finally get the opportunity he’s been waiting for since the Raiders traded for him during the offseason.
The Redskins have not been able to stop anyone so far, ranking dead last in total defense. Teams have been able to move the ball up and down the field against Washington which could provide a favorable matchup for Flynn.
Flynn’s had success filling in for an injured quarterback in the past. In 2010, Flynn filled in for the concussed Aaron Rodgers back in Green Bay and went 24 of 37 for 251 yards with 3 touchdowns. Don’t expect that kind of production this week, but Flynn could be a decent plugin if Pryor can’t make the start.
