Bilal Powell Emerges as Jets Starting Back

Jets running back Bilal Powell has unexpectedly seized the starting job in New York and shows no signs of letting the job go anytime soon. Powell’s solid performances during the first two weeks of the season helped him land the Jets feature back role in week 3 in which he ran for 149 yards on 27 carries against a solid Bills defense.

Expect Powell‘s success to continue during Week 4 when the Jets travel to Nashville to face the Titans. Powell is playing behind a solid offensive line which includes All-Pros Nick Mangold and D’Brickashaw Ferguson.

Powell has shown surprising speed this year, something that had been considered a weakness in his previous two seasons. Combine his new found breakaway speed with his solid power and hard running style and you have a running back that can produce both yards and touchdowns. Powell is likely to be a solid fantasy running back for the rest of the season.
