The Eagles’ offense under new head coach chip Kelly has been on fire through the first two weeks. The fast pace offense that Kelly brought to Philly appears to fit perfectly into quarterback Michael Vick’s skill set.
During the offseason, the Eagles’ wide receiver issues and quarterback battle were well publicized. However, all the scrutiny that the team has gone under has not phased them so far. Through two games, Vick has thrown for 631 yards, 4 touchdowns and maybe most impressively, no interceptions. He has also been able to complete 62.3% of his passes. Vick has also rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, one in each game.
The read option has also given Vick the ability to avoid getting too injured so far. While he did appear a little banged up after their week 1 win against the Washington Redskins, Vick’s bumps and bruises seem only minor.
If you drafted Vick, you probably did so with the intention of having him be your backup. Now just two games into the season, Vick has become a must start. His ability to stack up the passing and rushing yards is a huge boost for fantasy owners.
The Eagles play the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs this Thursday. While the Chiefs defense has impressed so far this season, Chip Kelly’s high octane offense will continue to put up big numbers at the hands of Vick. If you have him, start him.
