New Orleans Saints’ rookie wide receiver Kenny Stills poses an interesting question to fantasy owners who may not have the strongest receiving corp. Can he give my team a boost?
Stills, a University of Oklahoma product, had a good showing during his rookie debut against the Atlanta Falcons. He was able to haul in two receptions for an impressive 86 yards. Stills ran a 4.38 40 yard dash at the NFL combine and is able to use that speed to stretch the field for the Saints.
If he can continue his deep threat production, Stills could become a WR3/4 for fantasy owners. Quarterback Drew Brees is known for spreading the ball around on the offense and not locking in on just one receiver, so it is safe to say Stills will continue to get balls thrown his direction.
However, with veteran receivers Marques Colston and Lance Moore, expect a majority of the targets to be thrown their way earlier in the season.
Stills is definitely worth a pickup if you could use some help in the wide receiver position. While he only has one game to evaluate, if you have the luxury of letting him ride the bench for a bit, he possesses low risk high reward potential.
