The wide receiver position is stacked this year for fantasy football leagues, so there are plenty of receivers to go around. Here are two starting fantasy receivers that might actually be better off on the bench this week.
Roddy White: It was a last-minute report last week that had many fantasy owners scratching their heads. Adam Schefter said prior to the game that Roddy would be played as a decoy against the New Orleans Saints as he recovered from a high ankle sprain.
White’s ankle is still bothering him and will more than likely take another week to be at least game ready. Fantasy owners should steer clear of Roddy this Sunday and prepare for his return to game shape in week 3. White is always a threat to have a big game, but last week was a complete bust and this week is unlikely to be any better.
Mike Williams: Sitting anyone against the Saints horrid defense is a tough pill for fantasy owners to swallow, Tampa wide receiver has a long history of poor games against the Saints. The Tampa Bay wide out has never made a catch of longer than 25 yards in six career games against New Orleans and has been held to just one touchdown.
Williams has averaged just 65 yards in his games against the Saints which is hardly fantasy worthy. Expect Vincent Jackson and the run game to get most of the fantasy points this upcoming sunday.
