After Sunday’s slate of Week 1 games, fantasy owners have now gotten a glimpse of some possible breakout players. Up in Cleveland, one of those players is Browns’ third year Tight End, Jordan Cameron. Cameron finished Sunday with 9 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown, cementing his status as one of week 1’s hottest waiver wire pickups.
Relatively unknown before the year began, Jordan Cameron started showing up on some fantasy owners’ maps as the preseason went along. Cameron showed great promise in Cleveland’s new offense led by new offensive coordinator, Norv Turner.
Cameron officially put his name onto the fantasy scene with a monster game against Detroit in Cleveland’s second preseason game. Cameron looked to be one of Brandon Weeden’s favorite targets that game, collecting 3 receptions for 42 yards and 2 scores.
Fast forward to this Sunday and Cameron looked somewhat unstoppable. What stands out the most, is the amount of targets Cameron received from his quarterback. Weeden looked Cameron’s way 13 times, showing great confidence in his tight end.
Currently owned in less than 50% of fantasy leagues, Cameron is sure to be one of the top added players after week 1.With a matchup next week against the Ravens, Cameron is a must start from here on out.
