The saga of Chicago Bear wide receiver Brandon Marshall’s ‘Hip-Gate’ took another turn today, on Twitter of all places. When asked by a fan if he would be on the field for Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Marshall responded simply, “Yes.”
Before this tweet heard ’round the league,’ the 8-year veteran was upset that the Bears were not taking his concerns about recovery seriously.
Marshall has undergone three surgeries on his injured hip, the most recent coming in January. He has assured fans and the fantasy world that his hip “is going to be great.”
Marshall has not missed a game during the 2013 preseason, but is said to have been sore and not quite at 100%. However, he’s still looked like Jay Cutler’s favorite (or only) target.
Marshall was targeted on all 5 of his quarterback’s passes against the Chargers, and went for 38 yards and a touchdown. With all the drama hopefully behind him, it looks like #15 will have just as many passes as ever coming his way, which is good news for fantasy owners.
