Steelers tight end Heath Miller is on the fast track to recovery from a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL. Head coach Mike Tomlin hinted that Miller would be activated from the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) by Saturday. This means he won’t have to miss the first six games of the season.
Miller’s return date is uncertain, but the Steelers have no realistic tight end options until the 30-year-old returns. During his last 8 seasons, Miller has registered nearly 5,000 receiving yards, 39 touchdowns and 2 Superbowl rings. His worth to the Steel City cannot be overstated.
With 8 touchdowns last season, expect Heath Miller to be popular red zone target for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger once again.
Whether or not Miller is able to assert his size and strength this year is dependent on the health of his knee. If the knee is close to 100%, he could be a very valuable late-round pickup in your fantasy draft this season.
