New Orleans Saints starting wide receiver, Marques Colston, practiced for a second consecutive day on Tuesday. This is the first time that has happened during the 2013 preseason due to a lingering foot issue stemming from last season. While Colston attempts to get his legs back under him, he admits that he feels less than 100% after each practice.
“I’m working towards it,” Colston told reporters after Tuesday’s practice. “I still have a couple of weeks yet (until the Saints’ regular season opener). I’m still taking my time with it.”
Acknowledging the fact he’s taking his injury one day at a time and seemingly in no rush, Colston and the Saints seem to be fine with the fact that he may not play a single snap during the preseason. Colston just came off the Saints’ preseason physically unable to perform list on August 6th, and is finally returning to form.
Quarterback Drew Brees believes that Colston will be fine and ready to go by the start of the regular season. Without question, Colston has been one of fantasy football’s most consistent wideouts with Brees under center. He’s currently being drafted as the number 15 fantasy wide receiver and fantasy owners shouldn’t be too concerned about his health.
For this season, Colston is the perfect #2 wide receiver who should provide his owners with consistent top 20 production as he has in years past.
