Cleveland Browns Trent Richardson is the eighth-ranked running back in this year’s fantasy draft standings. With an average draft position (ADP) of nine, that makes Richardson a first-round pick in nearly every fantasy draft.
The only thing that seemingly could hold Richardson back this year is injuries. The second-year player out of Alabama was nicked up for the majority of last season, but powered through and only missed one game. Richardson finished the season with 950 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. He also added 51 catches for 367 yards and one receiving TD.
Richardson will be the focal point of the Browns offense, which has toiled near the bottom of the league since the franchise’s return in 1999. But the former National Champion with the Crimson Tide brings optimism to the shores of Lake Erie. Richardson is listed at 5-feet, 9-inches tall, and 230 pounds. He brings a bruising style of running that few backs in the league can match.
If he stays healthy, or at least plays through injuries the way he did in 2012, expect Richardson to be worth a first-round pick, as he’ll get plenty of carries and at least 70 targets in the passing game throughout the year.
