Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt continues to miss practice, but assures the Tennessee faithful that his knee feels “great.” Despite this positive update, the receiver remained sidelined due to swelling in his right knee. Britt is entering just his 5th NFL season, but has been plagued by knee injuries through out his career, including a torn ACL in his left knee during the 2011 season.
Britt has undergone surgery on both of his knees- most recently on his left one in June of 2012. This history of knee problems is what’s keeping Britt on the bench, as the receiver and his team continue to proceed cautiously.
Titans head coach Mike Munchak expects #18 to be back on the field for Saturday’s preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but his status is still a major question mark.
With Britt nearly ready to go on the field, attentions turn toward his plagued history off the field. Britt has had numerous run ins with the law, mostly in his home state of New Jersey. This includes a DUI that resulted in a one game suspension in 2012.
Britt has tried to set things right by spending significantly less time in New Jersey during the offseason. Definitely a good idea for a young, talented receiver who needs to stay focused and healthy before a contract year!
