After dealing with injuries for much of last season, running back Trent Richardson is determined to surpass his spectacular numbers from last year’s rookie season when he rushed for 950 yards with 12 touchdowns.
The 2nd year running back has declared himself 100% healthy, despite dealing with a right shin issue throughout the preseason. The shin problem came up after he got kicked in the right shin during a preseason practice.
The Browns sophomore running back sat out last week’s preseason game and most of the practices to let the shin fully heal. It seems as though the Browns are about to unleash their stud running back for a few series against the Detroit Lions during tonight’s preseason game. This contradicts previous statements where coaches said he was going to sit out the entire preseason.
This is extremely good news for fantasy owners, so they can actually see the 9th overall drafted player get some action. Richardson played through multiple injuries last year, which indicates that he can produce when he’s banged up.
With addition of new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, Richardson is primed and ready to get more than 300 carries and rush on the north side of 1,000 yards. Fantasy owners will be pleased to see their first round running back at full speed, even if it is just preseason.
