Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd went down with some type of injury to his right leg during practice on Monday and had to be carted off the field. Early reports coming out of San Diego suggest that Floyd -MIGHT- have torn his right ACL.
Floyd was apparently sprawled out on the turf while trainers worked on his right knee. Several of his teammates gathered around the player offering support and prayers. The Union-Tribune reports that Floyd injured his knee, but there’s been NO confirmation yet on the severity of the injury.
The Chargers lost the team’s top receiver for the season less than a week ago when Danario Alexander tore his right ACL in practice.
Vincent Brown would likely slide into the #1 receivers slot, but the Bolts would be severely short on depth at the wide receiver position. The extent of Floyd’s injury is still unclear, but if he’s seriously hurt, the season may be over before it begins for the Bolts.
