Bills RBs Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller Will Play Week 4 Against the Patriots

RB – Fred Jackson

RB – C.J. Spiller

Banged up Bills running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller are on schedule to play at home today against the visiting New England Patriots. Jackson will be wearing a modified knee brace, but he is the better option to start this afternoon against New England.

C.J. Spiller was limited in practice all week long and could see a reduced role this afternoon.

All Systems GO for Mike Leshoure in Week 4

RB – Mikel Leshoure –

Detroit RB Mikel Leshoure will play in Week 4 against the rugged Minnesota run defense. He was questionable all week long after 30 carries in his debut last week, but he’s ready to go this morning.

The Minnesota run defense is no joke this season and it will be interesting to see what Leshoure can do in his 2nd game as a starting RB in the NFL.

Miami Running Back Reggie Bush Expected to Play Week 4 in Arizona

RB – Reggie Bush –

Miami RB Reggie Bush continues to surprise this week even though he is officially listed as questionable against the Cardinals in Arizona. The last time we saw Bush, he was being carted off the field during last week’s game against the Jets with a left knee injury. This is the same knee he has banged up on three different occasions during his NFL career.

Bush has been limited in practice all week, but that apparently was just a precaution to shake off the hot sauce from Rex Ryan and the Jets. He is scheduled to play during the 2nd wave of NFL games around 4pm EST. But keep in mind, Bush certainly isn’t a lock to play.

We won’t know Bush’s true status until Miami releases the team’s inactive list for Sunday. For now, he is likely to run smack into a hard-nosed Arizona run defense that has kept opposing running backs out of the end zone during the 2012 season.

Game 1 – Marshawn Lynch had 21 carries for 85 yards

Game 2 – Stevan Ridley had 18 carries for 71 yards

Game 3 – LeSean McCoy had 13 carries for 70 yards

Chargers Kicker Nate Kaeding Out for Week 4

Kicker – Nate Kaeding –

After knocking through 7 out of 7 field goals this year, San Diego K Nate Kaeding may be done for the season. Kaeding is having serious issues with his right groin and will make way for Nick Novak.

Kaeding missed the majority of the 2011 season and barely beat out Novak during the preseason. At this point, Kaeding is not worth holding onto. Find a new kicker and move on with your fantasy season.

Giants Hakeem Nicks Out Again for Week 4

WR – Hakeem Nicks –

Giants RB Hakeem Nicks is out for Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Apparently Nicks has been struggling with a sore left knee while dealing with his surgically repaired right foot. The knee started swelling during practice this week and Nicks never made the trip to Philadelphia.

Adding a bad knee to the equation only makes matters worse for fantasy owners. The information coming out of New York is no help at all and at this point we don’t know when Nicks might be back in action. All you can do is bury him on your bench and hope for the best.

Pierre Garcon on the Fence for Week 4

WR – Pierre Garcon –

We’re only in Week 4, but this is the third week in row that Redskins WR Pierre Garcon will be a game-time-decision. I’ll be honest, I have Garcon on one of my teams and my patience with him is running on empty.

You don’t want to miss out on Garcon during this weekend’s game because Tampa is such a luscious matchup for wide receivers. But it’s a later game and if Garcon doesn’t play, you could ring up a bagel.

That’s kind of why he’s wearing me out week after week. Once again, Leonard Hankerson is waiting in the wings to start if Garcon can’t suit up. I hate to lose out on a potential big performance from Garcon, but I have already made alternate plans for my WR slot for Week 4.

Ryan Mathews Faces Reduced Role if Fumbling Continues

RB – Ryan Mathews –

It won’t happen this week, but if Chargers RB Ryan Mathews doesn’t find a way to hold onto the ball – backup RB Jackie Battle could see quite a jump in playing time. San Diego’s GM, A.J. Smith, sounded off about Mathews and his fumbling issues around the goal line. This all comes in the wake of Mathews goal line fumble last week against Atlanta.

Mathews has fumbled 11 times in 23 starts and patience in the front office is obviously wearing pretty thin. Mathews problems could turn into Battle’s good fortune if he has to take over goal line duties from the starter.

Battle is a sixth year player that the Chargers picked up this season from Kansas City. He had a great Week 2 effort against Tennessee where he rushed for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He could be a nice sleeper pick if the fumbling continues for Mathews.

Rob Gronkowski Questionable for Week 4?

TE  – Rob Gronkowski –

You have to appreciate the magical games of Patriot’s Coach Bill Belichick and his wild imagination. Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski didn’t get a full practice in on Friday and suddenly his status is questionable. So what’s wrong with the big guy? Anyone??

That’s right, Coach Belichick stuck him on the list for an UNDISCLOSED injury and or ailment. If you have Gronkowski, don’t spend too much time worrying about Gronk missing his chance to beat up on the Bills.

Despite the tired games of the New England head coach, it would take a real and somewhat specified injury to sidetrack Gronkowski from pushing around one of the teams he loves to abuse. Start him with confidence and let him shake off that bad feeling of being shut down by the Ravens during Week 3.
